Aerators come in many forms and sizes, as do the aeration tines that can be fitted to the aerator. Modern walk-behind aerators for putting surfaces offer tremendous flexibility in regard to tine options, tine spacing, aeration depth and ground speed of operation. Walking aerators are not only used on putting greens but also on collars, approaches and tees. Fairways are aerated with Tractor towed Aerators.
From the innovative wheels within the coring path, to the large 48" (122cm) aeration swath, there's nothing ordinary about the ProCore® 648 aerator. Years of research, customer input, testing and attention to detail went into making the ProCore® 648 the most productive and efficient walking aerator on the market.
Toro Titan™ Tines
Toro engineers have designed the Titan Tines line to deliver exceptional hole quality as well as longevity and durability for the entire line. Innovative designs, like the Titan Split Tine, offers extra benefits such as splitting cores into smaller pieces so the remains disintegrate and virtually disappear into the turf canopy.
Deeper, High Quality Holes
RotaLink™ geometry allows the tines to enter and exit the ground cleanly leaving a high quality result.
Ease of Operation
A single switch on the handle controls the tine head and a handle bail engages forward and reverse. No shifting required. A fail safe system stops the machine and lifts the coring head if bail handle is released.
Efficient Aeration
The ProCore 648 is more efficient with a 48 inch (121.9cm) aeration swath that is 50 - 100 percent wider than competitive units.
High Productivity
The ProCore 648 allows you to aerate more areas in one day with the 48 inch (121.9 cm) aerating swath and clean up is easier and less labor intensive resulting in less time.
Innovative Rear Wheel Placement
The wheels are located in front of the aeration head so they do not drive over the freshly aerated turf and run over the cores.
Series/Parallel 3-Wheel Drive
The patented 3-wheel series/parallel traction drive, combined with high-torque, low-speed wheel motors, prevents slippage for reliable traction and even hole spacing.
Smooth, Quiet, Powerful
To give the ProCore 648 its uncommonly smooth operation, the action of the tine arms are modeled after a six-cylinder car engine. The arms work in pairs to counterbalance the coring action. This precise configuration virtually eliminates hopping, rocking and unnecessary vibration.
TrueCore™ Ground Following
TrueCore™ sensing system automatically maintains tine depth on the fly to match the ground undulations providing consistent coring depth of up to 4" (10.2 cm).
Variable Hole Spacing
The ProCore 648 gives you more control with variable hole spacing ranging from 1.5 inches to 3 inches (3.8 cm to 7.6 cm) apart.

The ProCore® 864 and 1298 takes the proven coring head technology from the very successful ProCore® 648 combined with an improved platform, the result is the most productive and durable large area aerators available today.
Belt Drive Aeration Head
Kevlar reinforced belt drives provide smooth, quiet operation along with robust durability. This leads to increased operator comfort and a more enjoyable aeration experience.
Depth Control Mechanism
The depth control mechanism provides a quick and easy method for changing hole depth. The depth setting has a high gear ratio making changing depth a quick and effortless task.
High Quality Holes at Consistent Depths
The RotaLink™ tine guide mechanism ensures tines remain vertical as they enter and exit the ground. This produces consistently clean holes for better looking turf and easier top dressing fill if required. The ProCore® tine placement is close to the roller, keeping them at a consistent depth as the operator travels over undulations.
Impact Resistance System
The compression springs combined with the independent coring head provide positive down pressure to ensure proper hole depth in the downward direction and provide a dampening affect in the upward direction when a large object is impacted during aeration.
Increased Productivity
The efficient 64" (162 cm) and 98" (249 cm) aeration swath deliver maximum productivity for a broad range of forward hole spaces.
Operator Comfort and Ease of Use
The precision balancing weights eliminates hopping, rocking, and uncomfortable vibration for less operator fatigue and a more productive and efficient aeration experience. It allows the aerator to run in the up position and simplifies operation and increases efficiency in turn around.
Oversized Gear Box
The oversized gear box provides improved capacity and durability for the toughest turf conditions.
Precision Balanced Drive System
The ProCore® drive has precision balancing weights and each coring head is modeled after a 6-cylinder engine with precision balancing. This configuration eliminates hopping, rocking, and uncomforting vibration. This leads to less operator fatigue and a more productive and efficient aeration experience.
Reduced Simplified Maintenance
Easy access to service components and minimal grease points result in less maintenance and less time performing maintenance tasks. This leads to higher machine and operator productivity and allows technicians to be more efficient.
RotaLink™ Tine Guide Mechanism
A linked mechanism that guides the tine actuation path and ensures they remain vertical as they enter and exit the ground. This produces consistent, clean holes for better looking turf and improved top dressing fill.

The compact and heavy duty SR Series are designed for use on a variety of turf areas including fairways, greens, tees, and athletic fields. The SR Series features a working width of up to 73" (1.85 m) and depth capabilities of up to 16" (41 cm).
Adjustable Soil Fracturing Capabilities
There are multiple positions available to adjust the soil fracturing movement of the tines. This allows you to adjust and control this motion to your desired application.
Coring and Solid Tines
There are many coring and solid tines available to cover a wide variety of cultivation practices.
Depth Control from the Operator's Seat
The distinctive frame construction incorporates perfectly aligned arcs following the movement of the crank arms and the movement of the main frame. This design allows the operator to change the tine depth without changing the angle of entry by using the hydraulic top link from the tractor while the machine is in operation. Because of this one-of-a-kind feature, you can apply the ideal tine position for every soil type and condition, without leaving your seat.
Easy Hook-Up and Operation
All of the deep-tine models utilize a standard 3-point hitch hook-up and are powered from the PTO.
Heavy-Duty Design
These robust machines are capable of withstanding extreme aeration conditions. The heavy-duty design includes an oversized gearbox, heavy-duty bearings, crank arms and chains, allowing you to operate in the toughest conditions.
Precision Design
The crankshaft, tine arms and frame are perfectly aligned allowing for superior performance and long life. With its fast, efficient performance and innovative design, the deep-tine aerators are able to run smoothly at all depths, relieving pressure-packed soil with superior hole quality.
Superior Punching Power
The leverage of the aerator allows the weight to be placed directly over the point of impact, enabling lightweight units to do heavyweight jobs while reducing shock and wear and tear on the machines.
